Antiquing: The aging of the surface with distressing and wear marks. Glazing: The overlaying of a color to the under finish to create a patina which adds depth, while enhancing the antiquing and carving. Surface Textures Hand-sanded surface: This will achieve a uniform and more traditional formal look. Hand-planed surface: This is a time-honored process that requires years of skill and knowledge of the hand plane to achieve. The look is a classic, giving the surface a finished look but with the distinctive mark of being done by hand. Hand-hewn
surface: Achieved by the extremely time consuming process of
hand carving the entire surface area with great skill and patience.
The look is rich in texture and has a radiant depth giving the piece
a truly unique look and feel.
