Alante Original Furniture's Design Ethic Alante Original Furniture designs are deeply rooted in the overlay of Native American, Spanish and ranching cultures, all tied together by the common thread of the land. The understanding and interconnection of these cultures and their values are what gives Ernest's furniture the humanness we can connect with. Each piece of furniture, whether you decide on one of his original designs or would like a custom creation, is as unique as the person it's being created for. Each piece is crafted with meticulous attention to detail at every step, beginning with hand selection of the wood for individual character to enhance the design. Then the components are hand crafted using only Old World building techniques, mortise and tenon joinery, floating panels which allow for the expansion and contraction of the wood in climate changes. The drawers are dovetailed. Each piece that requires carving is sculpted by hand. The finishes are deep penetrating oil finishes, meticulously hand rubbed to enhance and bring out the natural beauty of the wood, giving a durable lasting finish. Only the finest drawer guides and hand-forged hardware are used. Then each piece is signed and numbered. The result is
unique handmade furniture that will become increasingly beautiful with
time and use.
